Bio;

Jennifer Hillhouse has been working in a broad way across the creative industries since 2010. She specialises in pottery, photography & design and has also established many creative business. She is a problem solver and has spent most of her career using her skills to create visual & tangible assets that solve problems. She enjoys getting to know her clients and capturing their stories in the most considered and unique way possible. 

Jennifer is an integral part of Clayschool Brisbane. Her role is Creative Direction and Studio Development of the school. She also manages student intake management and produces regular workshops and school exhibitions.

Her own pottery work forms the basis of Jennifer’s personal artistic practice. She likes to explore form, function and design. Prior knowledge from the creative industry cross over into this more manual artform. She finds pleasure slowing down & is deeply passionate about woodfiring.

Perhaps it’s best to separate the areas of Jennifer’s working career, however, they often cross over. Each part lends itself to the other and without one the other wouldn’t be there. So when it comes to defining what Jennifer does.. it is probably simple to call her a Creative Entrepreneur working in Clay, Photography & Design.

Key Partnerships;

Clayschool Brisbane - establishing the new venue at Milton Brisbane alongside Ray Cavill. Jennifer works in Creative Direction & Studio Development of the school. Setting up student management & online booking systems. Production of regular workshops & student shows.

Vieille Branche -a French bistro and arts and entertainment venue from 2013 - 2018. This space became a platform for many creative oulets including regular artisan market days, weddings, workshops, sunday jazz afternoons and a thriving cafe.

Coldwater Cabin - Creation of Airbnb escape in the Central Highlands of Tasmania alongside JC Lehuby. Interior Design, decoration, photography and bookings management.

Le Jardin de Manou - Creation of Airbnb escape in the Normandy, France alongside JC Lehuby. Interior Design, decoration, photography..
